Visit to the pig farm @ Simpang Tiga, Penang

We went to this pig farm when we stayed at Hang's hometown a night during the Penang trip. It's located at Simpang Tiga, Penang. Don't ask me about the exact location, because I don't know, I was too blur and tired and stinky that day, I have no mood to care much about the details, sorry guys.

We was brought by this Aunty, a neighbor of Hang's grandma, I assume lol. (no photo of her so sorry)

Here's the photos of the pig farm:

The entrance of pig farm, we can actually smell it from the entrance, or maybe from the moment we stepped out of the car lol. You wouldn't wish to smell it if you know how stinky it was.

I'm not sure what is this, pig feeds I guess, just taking this photo because it feels vintage lol.
I googled "pig feeds", and this looks like pig feeds, so I assume it is. Now I know pigs don't eat cupcakes, they eat corn and fruits, and it's illegal to feed pig catering wastes in some countries. Not sure which countries but this article tells me about that lol.

Here's a photo of pigs drinking water lol.
Look at their nose and the water flows,
Soooo nice, Soooo pinkish.
I wonder why this pig non-stop drinking when I was taking photo :/

This is the owner of this pig farm I guess. Not sure what was him doing tho :/

He look fierce when I took this photo, but the Aunty
told me that he likes it when people take his photo.

I was like, lol but he look like wanna snatch my camera, and throw it on the floor and step on it, then scold me for going in his pig farm without his permission.
It's okay I was thinking too much lol.

There's this weird photo of the worker riding on a pig.
I don't know what to say about that lol.

The pig farm visit came to an end after 10 minutes as we "cannot tahan" the smell. Believe me, you can't prevent the smell from getting into your brain even if you try to breathe through your mouth. The smell is so strong that your brain will stop functioning if you continue staying there for an hour lol.

Photo of me with 5 pigs. Oops, *my friends* :D

As what I expected, it stinks, but I didn't expect it stinks THAT much. Despite the smell, the dirts and the bad lighting (it was evening okay), it's still a memorable trip and piglets are still cute. This is the first time I went into a pig farm and took so many photos of pigs. Not to say it's a pleasant visit but still worth going! I get to see my boyfie's friends, sooooo many pigs that I lost count. Didn't expect him to have so many friends tho.

Review on Premium Deluxe Condo @ Penang

For my trip it's just 7 of us (4 girls 3 guys), so we look for homestay from Airbnb (homestay cheaper maaa). Then we found this place called Premium Deluxe Condo @ Penang.

Location: Times Square,Georgetown. Next to McDonald.
Rooms: 1 Master bedroom (Queen sized bed) and 1 bedroom (2 Single bed with 2 additional pull-out bed).
Just a photo of the Queen sized bed, ignore me please T^T
Extra Information:
  • Air-cond provided in living room and both bedrooms
  • 1 free parking lot
  • laundry room (we did our laundry there lol).
  • 2 washrooms (one with bathtub)
Price: around RM579 for 2 nights, deposit is not included (RM300++ if I'm not mistaken), so divided by 7 of us it's just RM82.70 (its quite cheap actually).

ADVANTAGES:

1. Location, it's very near to most of the famous restaurants and museums in Penang Island (Georgetown maarrr), this is the main reason we choose this homestay, obviously. Since we're soooooooo lazy to look for places to eat, a large number of stalls present within walking distance is HEAVEN FOR US :D

The night we walked to a steamboat restaurant for dinner. Yay!

2. Also, the apartment is very very very nice. It's not like Nyonya or traditional Penang style or nice nice hotel room style or with whatever theme), but it actually has a home-sweet-home feels, and of course clean and tidy and comfy :D. However, the fragrance candles (not sure if it's FOC lol) seems to be collecting dusts, that doesn't harm tho, it's okay :3

This is the Penang Nyonya style house, I wanna stay in these kind of homestay/hotel the next time!
#bucketlist

3. The apartment is actually quite high class, they even provide swimming pool and gym for the residents. SWIMMING POOLLLL ME LOVE ME LOVE. Erm, they actually have a few more facilities but we did not get a chance to try those so you can just check it out by yourself from the link above.
Yes, we went to swim :D
Despite the slide that doesn't work (at night), it's nice and big and fun!
PS: The swimming pool close after 10 (if I'm not mistaken)

4. Hi-fi. Nothing much, just feel pro. We used our pendrive to play songs, so I guess you can connect your phone by USB cable too.

5. Towel provided. It's very useful because we use it when we went to swim

6. Convenience stores, to buy beers. There is one located near the lobby while another in the shopping mall just outside the entrance to the apartments.

PROBLEMS:

1. No Wi-fi in the homestay, but they have a Wi-fi room in the lobby (we tried, but meh). It's not really a big deal for me tho, since we have our own phone data, but I can imagine the inconvenience for foreigners larrr.

2. The residential parking can seriously make you speechless. We have to drive at least 20 turns to reach the free parking lot. We thought some ghost put a curse on us the way down seems to be never-ending during our first descend. (鬼打墙 有木有!!)

3. There's nothing much to watch on TV as there are limited channels. They don't have Astro On demand and Wah Lai Toi, emo :( Well, it's just a temporary residency, can't say much, and we had fun in the apartment without TV tho. #pokercardsrock

*Don't worry guys, those are just minor problems, the apartment is still good ^^

Ratings:
Price/Value : Good
Location: Excellent
Cleanliness: Good
Facilities: Excellent
Overall: Excellent

*Rate from Bad, Acceptable, Good, Excellent

Basically, the reason I wanna write this post and share it out is to make sure I could remember details of such great memories, also to share out my opinions and experience during this trip. Because I found that others' experiences and reviews are soooo important when you are planning for a trip. So here you go, the whole 'process' of this 4D3N Penang trip.

*Before that you can check out my previous post on Steps to plan a trip :D CLICK ITTTTT!

Okay now let's talk about My Penang Trip. For my trip it's just 7 of us, 4 girls and 3 guys. (nice amount I like I like). I'm actually the "trip-suggester" (sounds so pro I like I like). We chose Penang because it's famous, so there should be a lot places to go, like Street Art, Museums, Chews Jetty etc. We don't need to worry since there are so many time-killers here (Yes we are lazy). And I heard that the public transport there is quite convenient, but we actually travel by friend's car most of the time lol.

Left to right: ZhungZhung, me, Waizap, LingLi, Jane, Erene, Hang
(ps: the one standing at most right, swag pose weiihhh)

The accommodation part was MY JOB! And the transportation was arranged by my boyfie (let's call him ZhungZhung, because I found this name quite cute HAHAHAH, he doesn't like it tho, emo).

ACCOMMODATION:
- First night (22nd) at my friend's hometown (RM0, yay free things I like).
- Second and third night (23rd & 24th) : Premium Deluxe Condo @ Penang at Time Square, George town. Reviews

TRANSPORTATION:
-First day Flight from KL to Penang (RM59.40)
:Bus from Airport to Jetty (RM2.70)
:Ferry (it's free from island to mainland, yay)
:Bus from Jetty to Tasik Gelugor, my friend's hometown (RM3.40)

-Second day onward: LingLi's car yay (we shared the petrol money, around RM12)
This is the lenglui who fetch us during Penang trip

Overall, I love this trip and these idiots HAHAHAH. They are dumb and stupid (in a funny way, of course), it would be less fun without any one of them, then I will be sad, then the trip will not be fun. (I donno what I'm talking now lol)

Look at these idiots trying hard not to laugh, so adorable awwww

The sad thing is that this stupid friend called ShieFen is not able to go with us (kena ffk). As revenge I will upload her stupid looking photo here.
Okay, my stupid face at the same time, not sure whether it's a revenge.

Another sad thing was we didn't have enough time to all famous foods in Penang, like the ICEBALL, the YOUTIAO with toppings, SERIOUSLY NICE CHARKEUYTEOW (because all the charkeuyteow I ate during this trip was just okay), and LAKSA. We spent too much time in transportation, first is to Hang's hometown (we used like 6 hr from KL to there lol), then we need to look for petrol station (used 1 hr to search for gas lol). Well, all trips has accidents and problems, so it's okay as long as we still had fun.

Formula for trip planning

Sounds formal doesn't it? Well I'm just writing it down so that I would follow the easiest planning steps for the next trip. I know I'm lazy okayyyyy.

So, this is my 'formula' to plan a trip:
1.  Get some friends. (OFCOURSE LAR, abo you wanna go by yourself?)

  • So for me, I prefer 4 to 7 friends, ECONOMIES OF SCALES you know? (Business Studies student here lol). You can rent a home-stay if your gang is big enough (something like staying in a house or apartment for few days lar). It's actually cheaper compared to hotel rooms. (well it's quite important for us students la since we 'bolui' enough to book luxury hotel rooms). bolui =  no money.

2. Make sure all of them can go

  • Basically you just need to arrange out the DATES, the DESTINATION and parents PERMISSIONS. Hey, don't think that parents permissions are not important. I kena ffk once because of this friend who didn't ask for permission before we book hotel (it's a long story lar I'll tell you the next time). ffk = fong-fei-kei, ditched by someone

    3. Look for accommodations and transportation
    • This is the most important part as once everything is booked, no one can ffk you. NO ONEEEE (there's some exceptions tho, sien). sien = something like EMO
    • For accommodation easy lar, you can just look for Mr Google. Or you can search in websites like Agoda, Airbnb (homestaying), Tripadvisor and any other website which recommend some nice hotels or something. Remember to check the reviews and also the location of the home-stay or hotel, whether it's convenient or nice environment.
    • For transportation it's more complicated, you have to Wiki the place you wanna go first. Either driving your own car, or public transport (bus, taxi and trains), or take flight. If it's an island (like Penang), then you need to know whether they provide ferry. Check whether the rates are under budget, the schedules and off-days.

    4. SAVE MONEYYYYY
    • Saving money is easy, until you realized that you need to buy lots of stuffs because THEY LOOK NICE AND USEFUL (which usually don't in the end)
    • The easiest way is to SET A BUDGET. I set my budget around RM350 for Penang and RM250 for Ipoh.

    5. Check for the famous and nice local foods and location.
    • In my case, I checked some Chinese articles websites (because they will share out fun places and nice foods around Malaysia or any foreign places sometimes), just click these website and look for the Travel category, it helps much too: ViralChamA Day MagazineTanTanNews. ViralCham and TanTanNews has more information on places in Malaysia while A Day Magazine I guess it's worldwide one, but the website design is quite nice and I like the photos they share.
    6. Pack your luggage and go saja larrr. (go saja larrr = just go)

    • Just prepare any luggage or bag that is big enough to put all of your things (remember to leave some spaces for souvenirs.). Personally recommend the pulley luggage, especially for girls because we are too lazy to carry it HAHAHAH
    • Here's the website about Tips on packing your luggage. It's in Chinese (awww too bad), and now you know the reason this article is full of grammar mistakes, but pleaseeee, correct me pleaseeeee. Anyway I love the idea of reusing the contact lens containers, its very very very useful for me and now I will keep all my used container for travel use. Personal tips: put socks under your bras to prevent the cups getting out of shapes (because I'm too poor to buy a bra travel bag T^T).

As a conclusion, planning trip is fun but annoying (because some of your friends will not join in the discussion or don't give any responds). And be prepared because you will always have a friend who ffk in the end. So Plan B is needed or just ignore them and have fun HAHAHA
